Recently I went out to Old Man's Cave in Logan, OH to take some of my senior photos with my mother. It was a long and grueling walk, but was ultimately a very rewarding experience. The sight itself was beautiful, a huge gorge towering over top of a forest. The lighting was just perfect for photos, reflecting off the tiny waterfalls in the area. Everything was completely covered in moss and leaves of a variety of colors. Granted, the trees were a bit more bare than we had originally expected but overall the scenery was stunning.
I actually got to teach my mother about how to get bokeh, which was a lot of fun and a little bit difficult at times. It was a bit hard to remember how to translate my knowledge of film cameras over to digital, which lead to a couple of misunderstands of what the shutter speed should be. We wound up getting a lot of really nice photos though, many with some excellent bokeh achieved in them. So, with tired feet and smiling faces, we completely a very successful photography session.
